Dress: For Love & Lemons / Denim: Paige / Booties: Alexander Wang / Bag: Chloe / Sunglasses: Le Specs

Happy Monday!

I had my eye on this dress for a while and I was so excited when it finally went on sale! I love the billowy sleeves and the detail around the neck line – so unique and cute. It’s also really well made and great quality. I love anything with long sleeves too so I will definitely be wearing it a lot!

When I first got it though I wasn’t sure how I wanted to wear it. Obviously my first thought was to throw on some tights and booties and be on my way, but I felt like that was too formal during the day, plus it is getting pretty cold in NYC and I wasn’t sure how much suffering I wanted to put myself through haha. So I tucked it into my high waisted denim and made a top out of it. I liked that look but the detailing on the dress goes below the waist line so I felt that tucking it in didn’t frame the look very well. I finally decided on just wearing it over my jeans and I’m really happy with the outcome.

Wearing a dress over jeans is a scary prospect for some women, however its super easy and looks really cute. The key to pulling off this look is to incorporate a short dress. This makes the dress really just look like a long top so it doesn’t feel so out of place when paired with jeans. It’s also a great look for the cold months when you still want to incorporate your dresses into your winter wardrobe

I hope this look has inspired you to try something new with your existing wardrobe :)

See you Wednesday!!

Happy Friday!!

Its almost Thanksgiving!!!! Ugh just a few more days to get through! I can’t wait to head home on Tuesday and be with all my family.

I need to wear more dresses. I used to wear dresses and skirts with tights alllll the time and I need to get back to it! I randomly came across this dress when I was shopping for a gift for my sister’s birthday. I absolutely loved it even though shift dresses are a bit tricky to pull off without looking like you’re wearing a bag haha. I at first tried on the size medium and it was huuuuuge so I bought the extra small! Rarely do I wear an extra small but when pieces are big and flowy like this you definitely need to size down.

I also loooove long-sleeved dresses for the Fall/Winter. I can’t wait to search for some more! The best long-sleeved dresses are some pretty unattainable Chloe dresses so I loved that this one was so similar to the Chloe ones I dream about.

I hope you have a Fall-filled weekend :)

See you Monday!!

5 Thanksgiving Day Essentials

1. Cozy Sweater
Whether you like to get dressed up or dressed down for your Thanksgiving dinner, you’ll most likely find yourself in a cozy sweater at some point in the day! My favorites are the ones I can just wear around the house but would also look cute if I decided to wear them out. I obviouslyyyy love a chunky knit and turtlenecks. Here are a few faves:

2. Berry Lip
Thanksgiving is like the ultimate Fall day, and a berry lip is the ultimate sign of Fall. What I love is that a berry lip really looks good on every complexion. My favorite source for a berry lip right now is the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Broadest Berry, but here are some other goods ones:

3. Fuzzy Socks
I love love to wear fuzzy socks when I’m running around the house helping my mom cook everything. And I love to wear them even more after dinner when everyone is cozied up and watching a movie or just hanging out. My favorites are the ones with grips on the bottom :)

4. Anything Camel (obviously)
Definitely the most festive Fall color you can wear. To be even more festive, pair your camel piece with a cute plaid scarf and some denim and you are reaaaady for Thanksgiving. Here are some of my faves:

5. Plaid Scarf
A plaid scarf is like the ultimate symbol of Fall beginning. Once you see plaid scarves on the street you know the season is happening! Sometimes I love to just wrap mine around me when its cold or when I am working at my desk. Multipurpose! I love these ones:

Jacket: Banana Republic / Sweater: Zara (similar here & here) / Denim: Paige / Belt: Nordstrom (similar here & here) / Booties: Stuart Weitzman / Bag: Saint Laurent / Sunglasses: Le Specs

Happy Monday!!

So when you spend upwards of $200 on a coat you are deeeefinitely going to wear it more than once! So I wanted to do another look with this super cute jacket I got from Banana Republic a few weeks ago (which you can see in my previous post here). And I would say this look is pretty different from my previous one! Its a bit more edgy. I loved adding the double buckle belt which is kind of becoming forgotten.

The mix of textures between the jacket and the sweater is also a great combo. Texture mixing is something that is super trendy this Fall. Definitely try it! It’s a lot easier than you think :)

See you Wednesday!

Sweater: Banana Republic (similar here & here) / Denim: J Brand / Coat: Forever 21 / Scarf: Urban Outfitters / Flats: Revolve (similar here) / Sunglasses: Le Specs / Bag: Saint Laurent

Happy Fridaaaaay!!!

Seriously so happy it is finally the weekend. This week has felt soooo long! I cannot wait to spend all day in bed tomorrow haha!

So if you know anything about how I put together looks you know that I always go for a good color combo first. One of my favorite color combos is navy and camel. Its so unique and clean. I decided to add another of my fave colors to this combo: blush. Blush goes with anything and I just think its so chic. Plus I loooove blanket scarves so basically this scarf was calling my name haha.

After I got these GRLFRND jeans I really thought hard about how I felt about denim and purchasing jeans and I’ve decided that the investment is definitely worth it. I got these J Brand ones as my first pair of expensive denim and I am obsessed. They’re just such good quality and are so flattering. If you can’t afford to spend upwards of $150 on denim keep your eye out for a sale! I did get a small discount off these at Saks when they were having their Friends & Family sale. Invest once and see if you think it’s worth it. You won’t regret it!

See you Monday!!

Sweater: J. Crew / Denim: J Brand / Jacket: Scotch & Soda / Bag: Mansur Gavriel / Booties: Steve Madden / Sunglasses: Elizabet & James

Happy Wednesday Trendsday!!
I’ve been thinking about taking the plunge with flared denim. I think if it’s not too much it can look really flattering. Definitely though I would have to wear them with some heeled booties. I would tuck in this super cute J. Crew sweater into the front of the jeans then let the rest hang out.
I am also super into these velvet booties which are pretty affordable. May have to make the investment!
See you Friday :)

Sweater: Storets (similar here & here) / Denim: Paige / Trench: Jack Wills (similar here & here) / Booties: Stuart Weitzman / Bag: Saint Laurent / Sunglasses: Le Specs

Happy Monday!!
I love love turtlenecks and I love love bell sleeves so this top was a dream for me! I’ve been really into Storets lately because they make really unique items that are relatively affordable. I was dying to get this sweater in a camel color (obviously) but it was sold out! So I decided to go for the cream and I am so happy I did. I love throwing this sweater one because it’s an outfit maker, and on top of that, super comfy and warm!
See you Wednesday!

PS: I added some more affordable versions of everything I’m wearing below :) Check it out!!
